Q if you've been to Dunn's River Falls (Jamaica)
I booked a cruise for March, when I will be 17 weeks pregnant, and I'm looking into shore excursions. One of the stops is Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Some people have told me that Dunn's River Falls is a must-see while I'm there, but I just wanted to know if this is a no-no while you're pregnant? The cruise website doesn't necessarily say "not for pregnant women." But, I'm not sure exactly what it entails, do you have to climb up very far? TIA!

definitely not for pregnant women! you climb the water falls and it is VERY slippery and you should not chance it IMO

I wouldn't do it pregnant - it is slippery and you have to hold hands and climb on rocks. Additionally when we did it everyone got sick later - and several friends I know who did it got sick after. I wouldn't chance it pregnant.

Definitely don't do it! We actually did see a person slip and fall a few years ago, it wasn't pretty

You can visit the falls without climbing them, but I agree that it's absolutely NOT for a pregnant person. I did it on my HM and I slipped and fell 3 times on my way up.
It's gorgeous to see but not so fun to climb!

We did it this past March and I would not feel comfortable doing it pregnant.

Is it possible to go to the Falls and not climb, and watch DH? I noticed a lot of the excursions i'm interested in (sight-seeing) also include a stop to the falls.

YES
Dh & I went to Jamaica twice. last time we went to the falls just to go; but didn't feel like climbing it. We still had to pay the same admission price whether we climbed or not (i think $15 USD pp). We went down to the beach; watched people climb the falls; bought beef patties; and bought stuff from the market you go through as you exit.
It was still a 1/2 day of activities between the beach; eating and a little shopping. We had a kick out of watching the people climbing the falls in the freezing cold water. We did see someone get carried away on a stretcher from an earlier accident. So it's definitely not worth the risk of climbing while pregnant!
