Re: If I see one more Facebook post
Or the "met in 2006, married 2010, baby 2011, life is good". Ugh!! Rub it in why don't you!
I want to put "married 2009, TTC for 2 years, need to spend $14,000 for an Ivf gamble, life kinda suucks".
I am optimistic about Ivf but the $14,000 still suuucks big time!

on the bump board they do a weekly post called over share FB Friday... what you REALLY want to write instead of what you do write. that would be an ideal post.

If I had to do a breakdown of major events in recent years, I think I might make myself cry!!
Anyway, I really do hope that 2012 is our year and at NYE next year (if the world doesn't end of course ) we will be the ones posting baby updates!!!

YES! Everyone did this and it was horrible. I know their purpose isn't to make me feel like sh!t but they were successful anyway

Re: If I see one more Facebook post
I honestly think the way people brag on facebook is totally pathetic. I have a great marriage, but I will never write, "5 years ago I married my best friend. Or "I have the best husband in the world." Um ok. I just think it's lame. People do that looking for validation. I guess that's what facebook is.. a phony show. You can tell I am in an upbeat mood

Re: If I see one more Facebook post
I've started blocking pregnant people from my feed to avoid seeing posts like these. But then there's still all the posts from people who had their babies in 2011 and are so excited about what an amazing year it was.
And I have never been in a more uncertain place with this, so FB has been rough the past few days.

I don't do this but it's because my DH is so wonderful every day. Totally just kidding If I talk about DH on FB, it's probably b/c he ****** me off.

Ita I've been on a fb break for over a month, lurking occasionally. Yesterday I went back on and really regretted it!

But I'll think back to now and feel bad for people on my list who are secretly having IF issues. I don't want them to hate me!

Yeah, I'm ultra sensitive to what I post on fb about my awesome life because u never know what others are going thru. Id never even do a pregnancy announcement, but thats just me. It's the baby center updates that kill me- I don't need to know what size is your baby every.single.day.

Re: If I see one more Facebook post
Wait... I can block someone's updates from coming on my feed without de-friending them?!?!?
Because that would be a gift. In all seriousness... I don't want to see how your baby bump popped...pregnant with twins..or putting your kid in cute poses for the holiday!!!!
Now...can anyone tell me.. .is this true?

Yes! On your feed page. When you see their post and hover over their post and a little arrow shows up. You can hide that story or you can unsubscribe from their status or photos. Best thing since sliced bread.

Yup!!
But this is seriously why one day when I'm walking with the baby stroller, I'd like to put on sign on that says ...
"Infertility, losses, and a surrogate"
ETA: .. Or something that says "6 babies in heaven to get 1 baby on earth"

Re: If I see one more Facebook post
On the flipside, when my cousin's wife and my friend in California announced their pregnancies through FB message to me, I was so grateful for this medium to pretend that I was purely happy for them.
Just type those 15 letters: c o n g r a t u l a t i o n s...add two exclamation points for effect, wipe the tears off the keyboard and promptly block them from the newsfeed.
Doing this by phone like in the "olden days" would have been infinitely more difficult.

Well I always congratulate friends and all that but my main point wasn't about announcments but the how great 2011 was b/c their baby was born this year or how they had a baby so quickly after getting married.
I know no one is doing it to hurt us and most dont even know I'm TTC. Its just annoying that every.single.post was like this yesterday. Especially when I was TTC before them and they are already taking their kids on their first Disney trip or pregnant with # 2.
