Recipes to make with Kitchenaid mixer
Ok this may sound totally ridiculous
DH just bought me a 4.5 quart Kitchenaid mixer for Christmas and I have no idea what to make with it (except for whipping cream or egg whites)
What are some of your fave recipes that you use your stand mixer for??
TIA
Signed,
Clueless in the Kitchen

I use mine for anything and everything. Cakes, brownies, icing, meatballs, meatloaf.

Make mashed potatoes. Much easier. You turn it on, walk out of the room, and then come back to mashed potatoes.

hmmm, never thought of this. Good idea.
Do you just put in the potatoes, milk, butter, etc and start it? Which attachment - the regular paddle or the whisk?

Re: Recipes to make with Kitchenaid mixer
Anything you would mix I use it for. It's so easy to clean, so I see no need to do the work myself
Baking, whipping, mixing, I have the grater/slicer attachment too

Yep, I just throw everything in and start it. I use the wisk attachment.

This. Especially cookie mixes that are hard to hand mix like peanut butter etc..

Re: Recipes to make with Kitchenaid mixer
If you get/have the ice cream attachment, making ice cream is easy! I just made some this past week.
I also love it for mashed potatoes, they're incredibly easy in the Kitchen Aid. I also make pot pie dough from scratch in there, icing, cakes, cupcakes, breads, etc.
For some reason, hand mixers scare me and I don't own one. So, I use my Kitchen Aid for mixing/beating/creaming just about everything.
My Kitchen Aid was the first item on my wedding registry and one of the best gifts we received.

I've been dying to try to make ice cream! I totally forgot they have an attachment for that! Thanks for the reminder!

Re: Recipes to make with Kitchenaid mixer
Haha, I was coming to post this exact question!
I used it for the first time on Monday to make DH a butter golden birthday cake. Yum!
No idea what else to use it for.
Who has a recipe for yummy mashed potatos? I've never made them from scratch before.
Any other actual recipes to share? Thanks!

I peel (completely) and boil desired amount of potatoes. wait for them to break apart when you poke em with a fork. I spoon them out of the pot with a slotted spoon into the mixer bowl. Add in salt, butter, and milk (preferably whole for best mashed potatoes, haha)...and pepper if you like.
Taste. if they're bland, add more salt and pepper according to your taste. If they're lumpy, more milk. Always start off light with each.
