For those of us who speak like sailors...
are you preparing to clean up your act before the baby comes?
DH and I have horrible language. We don't even say things in a mean or vulgar way...more like oh, that is fu@*ing cool..
I am trying to stop and trying to get DH to stop, but we keep regressing..
any tips?

I'm not that bad (i think?) but I am trying to stop. I think DH has gotten worse though. I have no tips other than to be more conscious of what you're saying and using another word instead (i try to say that really stinks instead of s*cks for example.)

The first time you say something and hear it repeated, you change your ways very fast! I was cooking the other day and burned my hand and said s h i t and Jack (21 months) repeated it clear as day! It freaked me out, so I am 100% conscious of my language now.

Re: For those of us who speak like sailors...
I bleep myself. Actually say the word "bleep". Other times I come up with nonsenical language. Then of course, there are those times were they heard way too much..
I told them that only adults can say bad words. Adults should learn better words to say too but sometimes the words come out faster than their brain could think. When I was asked what age they could curse, I told them "Thirty."
eta. if you search for the specific words, you'll find my kids have learned plenty.

Hopefully the first time you hear your child say F*CK!!
Last night my DH was saying a few choice words when he got ****** and Damien yelled at him "Don't say that Daddy!!" then told him to tell me he's sorry Meanwhile he wasn't yelling at me

I'm trying, but it seems to get worse as I get closer and bigger. I'm so afraid I'll sound like a truck driver during delivery in front of all my Mom's old co-workers. I've already apologized to DH for what I might say to him

I am really trying to clean it up, but no luck so far. My mom keeps yelling at me and saying that the baby's first word is going to be f*c*! It's hard especially when I'm driving!

I have a bad mouth as well. DH and I are trying real hard to clean it up, but it doesn't always work. sometimes once you get started, you can't stop.
