For those of us who speak like sailors...

are you preparing to clean up your act before the baby comes?

DH and I have horrible language. We don't even say things in a mean or vulgar way...more like oh, that is fu@*ing cool..

I am trying to stop and trying to get DH to stop, but we keep regressing..

any tips?

I'm not that bad (i think?) but I am trying to stop. I think DH has gotten worse though. Chat Icon I have no tips other than to be more conscious of what you're saying and using another word instead (i try to say that really stinks instead of s*cks for example.)

The first time you say something and hear it repeated, you change your ways very fast! I was cooking the other day and burned my hand and said s h i t and Jack (21 months) repeated it clear as day! It freaked me out, so I am 100% conscious of my language now.

I bleep myself. Actually say the word "bleep". Other times I come up with nonsenical language. Then of course, there are those times were they heard way too much..

I told them that only adults can say bad words. Adults should learn better words to say too but sometimes the words come out faster than their brain could think. When I was asked what age they could curse, I told them "Thirty."

eta. if you search for the specific words, you'll find my kids have learned plenty.Chat Icon

I'm trying, but it seems to get worse as I get closer and bigger. I'm so afraid I'll sound like a truck driver during delivery in front of all my Mom's old co-workers.Chat Icon I've already apologized to DH for what I might say to him Chat Icon

I am really trying to clean it up, but no luck so far. My mom keeps yelling at me and saying that the baby's first word is going to be f*c*! It's hard especially when I'm driving!Chat Icon
