Endometrial Biopsy-Did you decline it?
As you know one of the common protocols in preparation for IVF is an Endo Biop. Dr says I don't have to do it but some studies show that it creates a protein which makes it more likely for an embie to "stick"
Some say it's controversial... not sure why
I have done it before and saw stars it was so painful. But it may have been due to the Dr that did it.
Anyone decline it before IVF or have any opinions on the subject?
Not sure what I want to do just yet.

I was also wondering this... DH tells me to do it but he has NO idea how painful it is!
Cat- why is it controversial?

Re: Endometrial Biopsy-Did you decline it?
I had three transfers done by 2 different REs. I never found it too painful and all three transfers i got a bfp (although 2 were chemicals). After the whole IVF process, i didnt find the biopsy to be too bad. I found taking motrin before really helped.

My RE never mentioned it. I had 1 BFN fresh and 1 FET chemical...should I ask for one?!

Eh, I did it my first cycle and ended up with a chemical. Didn't do it my second and had a sticky BFP. Who knows? I think the controversy is whether it helps or not - it can't hurt your chances. I popped a few motrin about an hour before and it hurt - but it wasn't the traumatizing experience I read about online. I don't know if I would do it again.

Thanks for this.. still not sure Im going to do it. @ Lola, as sshhttc, described I think its controversial because it may not help at all. Who knows,..

Totally your call. you may want t mention it.. some people think it helps, some people think it does nothing. you'll find BFNs and BFPs for people who have and have not done it.

Re: Endometrial Biopsy-Did you decline it?
I've thought about it, for informational purposes only, like right before transfer. At this point in the game, I don't go for the "more chances of a BFP" thing. That's what they said about the D&C, Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy!
