Going to Dr tomorrow...

So, I've been lurking for a while, but don't post often.

DH & I have been TTC for a year with no luck. The first 6 months we weren't very active with trying. Then I went to the Dr and she said I have PCOS and should try losing a little weight. I did and it regulated my periods for 3 months and then it stopped, so I got sad and gained everything back.

I'm going back tomorrow. She mentioned Clomid the last time I was there -- I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what I should ask or things I should be aware of? Thanks

I have been taking clomid for 7 cycles now. Some people respond very well to it (I did) and some don't. Hopefully it works for you!

For me, it was important to find out all the different things I should do/can do. DH had a SA done- you could ask about that. She also recommended that I gain some weight and decrease my exercise. It doesn't hurt to find out what your dr. thinks is best for you. Also, you can ask about an HSG test. I waited a few cycles to get mine (but luckily it came out clear).

I would also get an idea of what his/her plan is for you. After the clomid what will happen? My dr. gave us a plan of clomid, hcg trigger and timed intercourse for a couple of cycles. That didn't work so we moved onto IUI. I just had my 4th IUI and she wants to discuss what we will do next if this one isn't successful

I never took clomid, but one question I would ask is how many cycles she plans on trying that before tweaking the protocol, specifically because it can thin out your lining after repeated cycles.

we did 5 rounds of clomid..i did not respond at all and moved on to femara and then injectables

make sure you are monitored on it and pp said it can thin your lining so u do not want that many cycles on it

i took it cd 5-9..only side effect was hot flashes

many people have great sucess with clomid

Thanks ladies! I'm definitely going to ask about what her plan is for me and try to be as aggressive as I can with this! I waaaaant a baby so much!!!!!!!!!!!
