Your answers are going to vary big time.
You can probably do Dominican Republic for a week for $4k. A resort like Beaches Turks and Caicos will run you double.
I'd say $5k.

Time of year will make a HUGE impact.
Jan/Feb is high season as us NYers escape the winter.
July/Aug can be cheaper since it is hurricane season.
The different islands vary greatly too - DR, Jamaica, and Mexico tend to be cheaper.

It's def going to run the gamut. Depending on Island, resort, time of year, etc.
DH and I spent $6K on our honeymoon to St Lucia in June. We could have stayed in a cheaper room at the same resort for $4K though.
