See we are spoiled though...I mean I live in Queens and can get a GOOD pedi for $15 bucks, $25 with 10 min. massage.

IF I were in Canada and this was my only option I would get one, not often of course, but here or there.

Wow in NJ the basic pedicure is usually $40 which is why I did not balk at the 60 spa pedicure. I feel so ripped off now.

I thought the exact same thing

Where are you ladies going? By me it's $30 for a mani and pedi combo! Although I am from ny so I still think that's high! Chat Icon

My college friends gets a pedi whenever they visit bc it so much cheaper. Even my friend who lives in Suffolk says she can't find a pedi as cheap by her and I would think it would be the same on LI but maybe not in Suffolk? By me (northern Queens) there are SO many nail salons I guess they have to be competive.

I stayed at a hotel once and paid that much for a pedicure. I was expecting it to be more of a spa pedicure for that price, and it was not. I was disappointed and ripped off.

Re: Would you ever spend $60 on a pedicure?

Thanks everyone! From Yelp/Google is seems that the going rate here for pedis is 30 to 50 anyway, so 60 isn't that far off, but not what I want to spend on something that will only last 2 weeks unless I'm on a cruise ship somewhere Chat Icon

Re: Would you ever spend $60 on a pedicure?

Yes. Not all the time, but once or 2x a year. BUT - only if it was a spa type pedi - something more than a normal one.

They are $50 at my gym's salon. I had it done once. it was amazing.

No but I get where you are coming from, since anywhere out of NY state...that is the going rate.

My friend who lived here, moved to Mass and does pedi's for that price. that is the going rate.

I live in Mass now, a Mani is $30!Chat Icon I refuse to pay it and only get mani/pedis when I home to visit my family

Re: Would you ever spend $60 on a pedicure?

I bought someone a $60 pedi package (at a spa) as a gift, but I'd never spend it on myself.

Re: Would you ever spend $60 on a pedicure?

Where are you in the city? That can also factor in. I'm pretty sure at my old Toronto nail place a mani/pedi together is about $60...making the pedi somewhere around $45. It is one of the few things that I find MUCH cheaper in NY. If you want to FM me your area-ish I may be able to recommend some nail places.

Where in NJ are you talking about? Are you talking at a spa or a nail place.
Where I am from the low end places are like $18 to $20 for basic and than go up to like $35 for spa stuff.
The higher end (non spa) places start at like $25 and go up to like $45 for extras.
