Ugh. Out of every drug, I've ever taken (think in the 100's  ) I can not stand Metformin! I am very sensitive and Metformin is the worst! I've tried getting the brand instead of generic, splitting the dose, taking them throughout the day with high protein meals, everything. For me, it just takes time! I don't feel well until I literally pass the pills from the day before. I find that when I'm strict with my diet, no carbs, dairy, etc, I feel better. HTH!

i think that's pretty common. i take 750 with breakfast (or lunch if i have a really light breakfast that day) and 750 before bed. I highly recommend taking it with food so it doesnt do a number on your stomach. It took me a long time to get used to it but since you're already taking 1000, it shouldnt be a big adjustment.

Im on 1500 mg a day and some days are worse than others. I've just come to the conclusion that its a necessary evil and the bathroom has become my new favorite room in the house.

I've been taking 1500mg/day forever, after the initial increase I'm fine on it. No symptoms or issues. Just give yourself a few day to adjust to the increase, your body will get use to it.

Sorry but I never adjusted to it. I was probably the only prgenant person with diarrhea instead of constipation  The second happiest day of my life was the day I stopped taking it.
Some ppl say the XR helps, but made no difference for me. GL!

I was on 2000 a day (1000 morning &1000 at night) for months. I never got used to it.
