Food Saver
Anyone have this?
My mom got me one for christmas and I think I will return it.
I don't have a lot of space.
Do you use yours? Is it that much better than regular tupper ware/freezer bags to warrant the space it takes up?
Do you find you spend a lot of money on the speciality bags?

Re: Food Saver
I absolutely LOVE my food saver!! We keep ours in the basement. We registered for it for my bridal shower, in 2009. We received the saver and 1 extra set of bags and have yet to purchase any additional bags.
We buy all of our meats from BJs/Costco and have enough to last us awhile. We freeze everything is portions and only take out what we need.
I, personally, would not return the food saver. On a tight food budget, it is a fantastic way to save $ while still eating healthy and tasty!

Re: Food Saver
My husband bought ours brand new in the box with a whole set of extra bags for $5! at a yard sale (from someone he knew). I use it all the time! I like it for meat a lot, but also use it for other things, like when we make homemade noodles.

Re: Food Saver
I got one as a gift years ago and returned it. Well after my bridal shower I ended up buying one with all the gift cards I got. I love it and use it all the times. I buy a box of about 6 rolls at Sam's about every two years!

Re: Food Saver
I actually bought mine off of Amazon for about $70. I absolutely LOVE it. I use it for all my meats and chicken. Since it's just me and DH, it takes longer to go through the stuff in the freezer. With the food saver I feel like I'm not throwing away as much stuff since it helps keep everything longer.

Re: Food Saver
We love ours! We use it so much we are getting ready to purchase our third one.
We stock up on meat when its on sale so I feel it saves us money in the long run.

Re: Food Saver
Ok, I caved! I rearranged some stuff in the closet so I have a place to store it.
Problem is, I know my mom got it at Kohls and I don't want to hurt her feelings, they are terrible with returns with no receipt, so I know if I return it, I will prob get like $30 store credit.
I will have to give it a try.
Has anyone used this in anyway to store breastmilk? Are there like special bags or anything?
