Girls who have had a D&C....

How long after your D&C before you felt like yourself again? Both physically and emotionally?

I had a D&C (had a miscarriage at 9 weeks) this past Thursday and am still pretty sore. Is this normal?

Also, how long did you wait before TTC again? I will have to do a fresh IVF cycle again since I exhausted all my frozen embies these past two FET cycles Chat Icon

I'm so sorry for your loss Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I did not have a D&C, but I had a natural miscarriage around 7 weeks. My RE said I only had to wait one full cycle before starting IVF again (I just did fresh).

I'm sure it's different, but for me I felt fine physically right away. Emotionally I was a wreck for 2 months, and I still get very upset about the m/c Chat Icon

I think both healing and grieving is different for everyone. As far as healing goes, Two days of heavy bleeding and then some light bleeding following. I never bled for more than a week. I was pretty sore for most of them, for about a week as well, maybe alittle longer.

Grief, comes in waves, the stages are the same for all but the amount of time is different. I don't think I"ll ever "get over" a miscarriage, I just move on with as much positivity that I can. For me, I wouldn't jump into an IVF cycle unless I knew that I was both physically and more so mentally able to withstand all the emotions that comes with. To be able to accept a negative if it happens as well as be joyous about a positive.

HTH!

I had a D&C the first time I had a m/c and was told to wait 3 cycles (for me that was about 4 months).

My second m/c was natural and I was told to wait 2 cycles (almost 3 months) that time.

It took me a long time to recover emotionally from both. Physically, I'd say 2-3 weeks before all the spotting ended. Cramps ended after about a week.

I'm sorry that you are going through this!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
