LASIK eye surgery

Have you had it done? Where? Do you mind sharing how much it cost? Recovery time? I've heard of people that need to wear glasses again within 2 years. Would you recommend it?

i got PRK - i wasn't a candidate for lasik. i won't share the particulars bc it's very different from lasik. i was BLIND before the surgery - best $$ i ever spent. i had it done in march 2010 by dr basilice.

My DH had it done in March and it was the best thing he did. The Dr. said he was a great candidate. He had astigmatism in both eyes and his eye sight was bad. He was only near sided though.
He went to the Laser and Cornea Eye Institute and it was I think $6100 total. In that price it includes maintenance for one year if he needed it. He has had no problems so far. The doctor said he may need reading glasses once he turns 40.

I was very nervous for him to get it done but it was a great decision.

I had it done at TLC by Roosevelt Field Mall by Dr Donnenfeld in 2004. My eyesight wasn't horrible but I do have astigmatism.

I had both eyes done with custom mapping (something recommended because of the astigmatism) and I believe it was $4600 - $1800 per eye plus $1000 for the mapping.

BEST MONEY EVER SPENT

There has been no change/deteriorating of my eyesight in the past 7 years. I was 36 when I had it done.

I had it done in 2000. I wasn't blind but definately needed glasses (but didn't always wear them). I can still see perfectly far away. I am just starting to notice a little change up close since turning 40. But it was the BEST money I ever spent!! I had it done in RVC by Dr. Hatsis and think I spent maybe $2500-$3000.
