Can gift cards expire?
I have a gift card from a local boutique that I received for Christmas last year. I never used it because I was pregnant throughout most of 2011 and now I'm losing the baby weight.
Can the gift card expire or is there a new law protecting against this?

It depends on what state it was bought in.

Re: Can gift cards expire?
IM not sure what the new rules are, but it used to be that with most, the value on the card would go down after a certain amount of time, say 2 years;
with a local boutique, i would check b/c i think chains may have different rules than local businesses.

It should say on the card. If not they usually have a 800 number that you can find out for sure!

It's been my experience that small, privately owned places like that it's usually a year - I would just call them and ask.
