Has anyone changed RE's?
I am switching my insurance coverage in January...my gyn recommended NSUH to me originally but they didnt take my insurance...now that I have had 2 failed cycles of IUI I dont know if I should check out the other doctor...I plan on staying with my current doctor for my next cycle but if that doesnt work and we have to do injectable cycles I would like to see all my options...
Has anyone changed RE's during their IF treatment and if you did why?
TIA

Re: Has anyone changed RE's?
i know of many girls on here for some reason or another switching RE's in the middle of their treatment because they weren't happy with their docs...it couldnt hurt to book a consultation especially if you're not happy.. good luck!

Re: Has anyone changed RE's?
I've changed RE's more times than I can remember. Usually I change because I think someone else can do better. I never had a bad experience anywhere (except not getting pregnant or staying pregnant). If you are not happy where you are you should change. Or if you want to see what another RE can offer you, then book a consult or two. And go with your gut instincts, its usually right.

Re: Has anyone changed RE's?
I changed once because I was unhappy with my doctor. I'm looking to change again because the practice I've been using is really inconvenient, and I'm looking to ditch the added stress.

Re: Has anyone changed RE's?
I switched because I didn't get a great feeling from the original RE, his wait times were beyond excessive and then he stopped taking insurance.
Was happy with my new RE but got pregnant on our own before I started my first cycle there. Will def go back for #2 though.

Re: Has anyone changed RE's?
Why exactly do you want to change? Are you unhappy with the course of treatment or the doctor? I switched REs twice before I even started TTC because something just didnt feel right to me. I'm glad I switched to Dr. B because he ran a zillion more tests than other REs do and he never did the same protocol for me twice (except for the one that we found works, to get me pregnant a second time). GL!

Re: Has anyone changed RE's?
Yes. I switched because I was told that the lab at my first clinic was not good for iVF and I knew that was my next step. I also did not like my Dr. It doesn't hurt to get a consult. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can do wonders. Good luck.

I dont know...I really wanted to go to NSUH originally but they didnt take my insurance...I also feel like at my RE its more of a factory...they are just going with the motions each month it seems...I had to ask what the plan would be if it didnt work out this month...I never see my primary RE unless I get a consult...maybe I am jumping the gun but its kinda of a gut feeling...I wasnt able to explore all my options before and now that I will be able to I think it would be foolish of me to not see if there might be a better fit...also the hours really kill me...the monitoring only being in the morning...

Most clinics only have monitptring in the morning so you will probably run into that issue most places. That beign said you have to be comfortable with the place....not only the Dr but the staff. It can't hurt to set up a concult with someone else while you continue on with your current Dr.

Re: Has anyone changed RE's?
I was going. I went to one for 2nd opinions and tried doing a cycle with them b/c they were so highly recommended but hated them and they were too far for me. They made me cry several times. They just marked my chart and ran out. They never explained things or told me what they saw or gave advice. It seemed they didn't care that I knew my cycle and they were going through the motions as if I was just first doing this stuff. I ended up back at my old RE for a cycle. Now I'm in limbo trying to figure out my next step with IVF.
If you aren't comfortable then switch. I have found that most offices are pretty much the same though. All factories with no bedside manner. Which is odd to me given the field they are in requires compassion.
