I don't switch often. I rotate between 3 eyeshadow palletes so they last forever. I have a dual bronzer/blush that I wear everyday. Plus, eye concealer and shadow primer, eyeliner, mascara...that's all the stuff I keep at home. In my purse my bag has a few lip liners and lip gloss, hand cream, hair brush, a mirror, sample perfume.... the basics I guess! I don't touch up makeup aside from lips unless I am going out after work.

I keep my eye shadow palates for years. Some I have as free samples that have never been worn and the colors look ok.I get a new blush once a year. I get a new powder and concealer every 6 months because that is about how long it takes me to finish them completely. I get new mascara every 4 months. Usually I just use the free ones from gift with purchase, but I will only use Lancome for mascara. I get new lip sticks every 6 months or sooner if I have a cold.

My everyday basics:

Maybelline Mineral concealer
Physician's formula mineral powder foundation
Ulta blush
Maybelline Full and Soft mascara
MAC Brow Set (brush-on colored gel)

I also usually wear Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin as my eyeshadow plus Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Underground (a medium brown).

For night and when I'm feeling adventurous, I have several MAC and Ulta shadows that I use with the nude UD Primer Potion. I also have Maybelline Falsies mascara for bigger lashes.

I have several Ulta and Stila lipglosses that I wear depending on my mood, mostly light pink and peach, plus Clinique's Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. I'm dying for the Clinique chubby stick!

i clean mine out once a week or so and wipe all the make up down/switch minimize what's in there

I have:

2 mascaras
shu umera eye lash curler
bare minerals powder and brush
mac blush and brush
mac concealer and brush
3 mac eyeshadows and 1 eyeshadow brush
1 lipstick/1 lipgloss

I keep buying new things & need to toss some things.Some of this goes back a long time (I think my oldest is Nars Lovejoy Blush from 2008 & some is discontinued), some I keep re-buying like Clinique Gloss in Black Honey). Some of it is brand new & and much that I have purchased in between has been tossed.

I don't carry all this with me, I usually just take pressed powder & lip gloss.
I am currently looking for a new bronzer, highlighter & lip glosses/lipsticks.
I also have 9 eye shadows on order.
