Tie Up or Balloon Curtains?

Hi Ladies,

I am in desperate need of some sort of curtains/shades for my dining area. It's not a very big area and I have candle wall sconces to either side of the window. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as far as either tie up shades or balloons shades. I'm not exactly sure the look i'm going for but i'd like it to be simple/elegant/girly/classy - Chat Icon

My walls are Shenandoah Taupe and I was looking to buy a sage green or even lean towards gold/beige.

I tried google but can't find anything. I'd love to see pics if anyone has anything like this? Also, where can I find what i'm looking for? I don't know why i'm having such a hard time with this.

That first pic is gorgeous! Thank you. Any idea where to purchase these types of curtains? I've been looking on google for weeks, I must be doing something wrong. Everything I find is not as fancy and very cheap-looking. Chat Icon

Re: Tie Up or Balloon Curtains?

are you handy. They are VERY easy to make.. you could also buy balloon shades and tweak them.. (ie, adding a lining, extra hoops, etc.)

ITA about JC Penney. I was going to do custom for all of our windows when we moved in, and it is $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

My Mother suggested Penney's, and I was less than interested. They ran a buy on get one coupon and I was able to do my entire house for 1/4 of the price of custom. They have some beautiful stuff. Take a look.

Re: Tie Up or Balloon Curtains?

I'm checking out Penney's and they do have some beautiful stuff but I don't see any balloon curtains or anything that's jumping out at me.

I'm trying to post a pic below. Sorry for the horrible pic but I couldn't find my camera last night, it's a cell pic. The big flower is getting moved and DH stuck our Christmas Cards in the blinds Chat Icon lol

I need window treatments badly! Any alternate suggestions are welcomed. I'm just not a homey type of person but would love for my house to look like I am! :)

Thank you Chat Icon

Not sure if this helps give perspective. Ignore my plants lol We've been commuting and away a lot, things are so out of order Chat Icon

I was going to suggest panels after seeing your dining room and then I scrolled down and saw this pic. I think the panels would look so much nicer than the balloon shades. You have a really nice dining room Chat Icon .
