Itchy skin?
My skin is so darn itchy this time of year- and it's driving me nuts. My legs are all scratched up from me clawing at them- I have scabs! I use Aveno shave cream to shave but my legs still get irritated and itchy! My back is also very itchy
Anyone have a good recommendation for shower gel or lotion for itchy skin?

Re: Itchy skin?
I get VERY dry skin that is painful or itchy, depending on the day. I had a VERY hard time finding something to help me but then I found the one thing that does and it's amazing....
Kiehls Ultimate Strength Hand Salve
They sell it at Bloomingdales. I love this stuff... I keep a tube of it on my night stand.. in my handbags... It's seriously a miracle in a tube.
ETA: I just realized you mean for your legs... This is meant for hands, but I bet you could use it on your legs too. Otherwise, I know Kiehls is a great brand and they carry body lotions too!!! You could go to Bloomingdales and test them out!!

Re: Itchy skin?
Use a humidifier! Mine is going on tonight because i'm itching to death.
Also, take cooler showers.
Both of these should help tremendously.

Re: Itchy skin?
I use the Aveeno creams/lotions for itchy skin - the ones with oatmeal in them. They def help.

Re: Itchy skin?
don't use lotion.. use a cream or something oil based.. I use baby oil/baby oil gel or cream (eucerin) on my body.. lotion does nothing for me.. as for your legs, have you tried hair conditioner? it works really good on my legs..

Hair conditioner to shave with or as a moisturizer?

I usually have to use this in the winter because my skin gets so dry & itchy.

to shave ;) it also serves as a moisturizer..
also make sure you check and see if there is any aloe vera in the shaving creams/blades you use.. sometimes it irritates your skin more if it's already irritated.

Re: Itchy skin?
In the shower, I use St. Ives Triple Butters Creamy Vanilla body wash...I also use this to shave with.
I've also found that Trader Joe's oatmeal soap is really good on the skin. It's not like other bar soaps...it doesn't strip away moisture.
For my hands/arms, I apply St. Ives Intensive Healing Hand Cream at night. No more elephant skin elbows for me. Not much of a scent to it (a plus for me).
And on my face, I use Trader Joe's Enrich face lotion. It's cheap (like $3/bottle) and has no added scents. I don't want my face stinkin' like perfume...it'll give me a headache.
