Did you trigger with 6 follies?
Two days ago the docotor ordered me the trigger so I have it. The doctor today advised me not to trigger with that many follies. My IUI is tomorrow morning and I just got a natural surge. I really want them all to release to increase my chances especially because I'm not sure if I'm def surging right now (see other post).
I have no way of getting a hold of my regular doctor so I am just looking for advice and similar experiences.

If you trigger or O on your own there is no difference. Does your Dr not want to do the IUI because of so many follies? He might because you would have a high chance of multiples.

There's no way of knowing if all 6 follies have eggs. You need to know about the likelihood and risks of getting pregnant with that many follies, and what will you do if you get pregnant with high order multiples. Did your doctor discuss it with you?
Most docs are iffy with that many follies because of the risk.

It wasn't my regular doctor and I didn't love her bedside manner but basically what she said is that there is always the chance of all 6 implanting and that she doesn't advise a trigger to slim the chances of them all releasing.
I am willing to take the chance of getting pregnant with more then one..it has been a long road if you know what I mean and I would welcome twins or triplets. More than that I would be very nervous but I feel like the chances are slim.
We are dealing with MF as well. What would you do?
I have the trigger shot. If I knew for sure I was surging I wouldn't be as nervous

She doesn't want to cancel..just said don't take the trigger shot..so confused!

I spoke to one of my main doctors and he said to take it. He said the other doctor is more conservative. I just did it. Why does this have to be so stressful

thats what i think too..i would do what u feel comfy with..all those follies may not have eggs

My biggest follicle is 22 and the smallest are around 14-15 with the rest ranging in the middle. If I did trigger a little early do you guys think those follicle sizes are good enough? I remember reading that when taking clomid doctors usually want them to be bigger but I can't find that now.

i wouldnt count on the 14s maturing enough to be viable eggs. anything 17-18+ is usually good for maturation with a trigger shot. how many over 17s did you have?
i used to overproduce follies and my Re would trigger me early. i ended up with a few BFN cycles at which point IVF was recommended since it was safer to know how many embies we were putting back in, then to trigger too many and risk high order multiples. you may think triplets sounds good but you would be putting your own health and the babies health at very high risk with triplets. thats not to say its not a blessing, just a lot riskier then most people really consider when they say "i want triplets." no to digress, but welcoming a healthy mommy and baby are most important!! good luck!

There was a range..one 22, two or three around 17-18 and two around 14-15. My docotor seemed happy with this. I spoke to the head doctor today during my iui and he did not seemed concerned with high order multiples but said there is a good chance for twins!!! I am hoping for one healthy baby/pregnancy and twins would just be an added blessing=) Unfortunately my current job is very demanding and I would not have the time for an IVF cycle so I am hoping and praying this works for us. Thanks for the advice
