Our bedrooms are downstairs right now. In our new home they will alll be up. Were also now going to have a playroom downstairs and I dont plan on letting the dog (a Golden Retriever Chat Icon) on the top floor. I am HOPING that the upstairs will stay cleaner now? Am I dreaming?

The laundry will be 2 floors down which stinks? As you all know I really am hoping to eventually have a dressing room down stairs also, so hopefully it will help with the clothes.

I just feel like an overworked mama. I am tired. I need to figure out ways to lessen my workload!

Oh and the kids and I dont wear our shoes in the house. My husband sometimes does if hes just walking through. Hoping all the dirt will fall off before they get upstairs. LMAO!! Chat Icon

I don't think it makes a huge difference.

Our Master is upstairs and no pets are allowed in there, but I still have to dust and mop in there at least weekly.

I don't think they stay any cleaner, but when you have guests over, if you keep them downstairs, they don't have to see how messy the bedrooms really are... Chat Icon

I like the bedrooms upstairs because then I don't have to go nuts cleaning them when I have guests over. Also, it gives some privacy when you just need to separate from other family members. I have the laundry on the 2nd floor too right next to my bedroom and master bath.

Our rooms upstairs stay a ton cleaner than downstairs. Our two dogs (golden and bernie), though allowed upstairs rarely choose to go, and we don't wear shoes upstairs. Our laundry room is on the first floor so really dirty clothing never makes it upstairs as well which helps (my dh works outside.)
