Any NYC teachers with GHI manage to get this covered? After getting the run around from insurance and the pharmacy. I finally got freedom to fill the prescription but it is not covered by my insurance or DHs??

Re: Ovidrel
Do you have to get it filled by your ins co's specialty pharmacy to have it covered. Some ins cos require this. It's $105 oop but HCG is about $65. It requires mixing though.

Re: Ovidrel
GHI told me to call Freedom Fertility but when they tried to put it through my insurance it was denied. It cost 95 through Freedom.

Re: Ovidrel
i have GHI and i know that only certain meds can be ordered thru a local pharmacy and others thru a mail order. With my contract i was able to get Ovidrel thru my local pharmacy and since its a namebrand i paid $25 copay for it......which i never had to use because i didnt need it for my IUI cycle.
how long is it good for? its been in the fridge for about 2 months and now that i'm doing IVF i'm using a HCG shot to trigger....Do you want mine? FM me!

Re: Ovidrel
Mine was not covered but if you order something else from freedom; it was greatly reduced. Hcg was a lot cheaper; just requires mixing

Re: Ovidrel
I have GHI (DH is city employee) and I have to get HCG ordered through Freedom Pharmacy. I had to meet a deductable for the first two doses (I believe it was something like $150) but after that each co-pay was $10. Not sure if this is per year, I guess I will find out once January hits. Now I don't know if they cover Ovidrel or not, mine is just generic HCG. HTH!

Re: Ovidrel
Your prescriptions don't go through GHI...in order to use our insurance, it's the welfare fund and you have to hit a deductible, I remember..I think Fertility was cheaper without using insurance but if you think you will buy more than one to hit the deductible, pay more for the first one or so and then it will be less, if that makes sense...Freedom was great and explained all of this..
