What bottles to use if you breastfeed?
I want to register for bottles but am not sure which ones. I plan on breastfeeding but I have to return to work after 3 or 4 months so I want to introduce the bottle while on maternity leave. What ones worked for you? I know it varies, I heard Avent works well. Should I buy a few of them all and see what works best? TIA

Dr. Brown's. We have used them from day one and I was EBFing for two months. I pumped out a bottle so Dh can feed her occasionally. Dr. Browns are great for babies who are gassy.

I used Playtex nurser and Advent when I breastfeed. Now I use Dr.Brown's because of spit up issues.

Whichever bottles you choose, make sure you get the wideneck. It's supposed to be closer to nursing so they don't get confused.

I tried the breastflow from first years. They were ok. But since i think dd is colicky and she was refusing a bottle for a week or so, I switched to dr browns and they are great because the bottle fits on the pump in style

I used Avent with my daughter, but they leaked all the time. I will still use them when I pump, b/c I have the Avent pump and they screw on, but I will probably pour the BM into a different brand bottle. I really like the Playtex Ventaire ones.

The few times we did use a bottle, it was Dr.Browns. DH picked them up when he got me a pump

We use Dr. Browns. Before using those I also tried the Playtex drop ins because you can get them with a nipple that is supposed to be closer to a breast, but I hated them.

With Caiden we used Playtex Nursers with the Naturalatch silicone nipples and will be using them again with this baby. The nipples are suppose to mimic the breast. I had no problems using them, and it's great because you use the disposable liners. Every baby is different but it's worth a try!

We use the advents and like them a lot, but my son gets very few bottles so I may not be the right person to answer.

I use Dr. Brown's wide neck. Definitely get the wide neck -- DS took to them much better than the others.

Thanks! I knew I was putting the tops on right and couldnt figure out what was going on!

I bf'd & used Avent - also the little tiny bottles in the hospital. I dont think it matters much as long as its introduced early on.
