Can you...before an HSG *** UPDATE with question***
So I am going for my HSG on Monday and the woman making the appointment said no  before. What does before mean? A week before, 5 days before, 2 days before, one day before, an hour before (just kidding with that one)?
Also, did you guys try during the HSG cycle, can we still try afterwards?
UPDATE:
So now I am freaking out a little because my HSG is CD 11 and DH and I CD 6. There were so many conflicting answers and now I am freaking out and confused. I normally O on day 19. I should be fine right? Anyone before?

They need to ensure youre not pregnant, which is why they usually do it during the follicular phase. No just in case you happen to ovulate early. I was able to try that cycle after the hsg, and I got pregnant! Gl

They told me 48 hrs if i remember correctly.. they want to make sure your tubes are clear.

They told me I could BD the following night which I did as I had the test on CD8 and started BD-ing on CD9.
Sometimes people get pregnant afterwards and supposedly it ups your chances the next 3 months too. Good luck!

Like ever? im confused.. when are you not allowed to i think that's what the op is asking. like ok, no but for how long before the test?
Im exhausted though so maybe im reading wrong.

sorry i shouldve said that i scheduled the hsg when i got AF, so i obviously wasnt pregnant, and they told me not to from that time until the hsg.
they had warned me about that the month before as well. maybe different places have different rules.

they toldme not to 24 hrs before and 24 hrs after..i could also not take my metformin
i was told to have it done before ovulation so we did it before i stimmed

I had my HSG around cycle day 8 and they told me not to at all. They will not do the test if they even think you could be PG.
There is no way to test that early so thats why they tell you no
