Re: dining room table
I have a Broyhill dining room set that I bought from a furniture store on Rte 110 in Farmingdale (it may have been called Rte 110 furnitures). I like it a lot -- it's good quality and I get a lot of compliments on the style. It included a table (with 2 leaves), 6 chairs, a china cabinet, and a sideboard/buffet.
It was an expensive set, but I got it for literally 1/3 of the price because it was the floor sample that they were selling. It wasn't damaged in any way - you can't tell it was not new. It was a GREAT deal.
So I would recommend hitting some of the furniture stores/showrooms -- even ones that sell higher end furniture -- and finding out whether any of the floor samples are for sale. You may be able to snag a very high quality piece of furniture for a fraction of the price!

Re: dining room table
ikea, i didn't want to spend a lot on something especially knowing we wanted babies who would eventually destroy it and honestly its been a great table so far and i don't think it looks inexpensive in my house

Re: dining room table
I got mine from restoration hardware but they don't make it anymore
its a very wide table 48 wide by 90 inches long
It was important to get a really wide table so you can fit all the serving dishes and everyones plates as well.
It also fits 10 big chairs without the leaf in. I can fit 12 with the leaf
It was my dream table!

Re: dining room table
we got ours from Thomasville
It's lovely and was worth the cost to me. the sideboard is another story....
However, if you want to keep price down - JCPenney has some nice dining sets and I've heard nothing but good things about their furniture.
