Ovulating on Ganirelix

Apparently, I'm the 1 in 1000 that this has happened to. To make a long story short, last cycle we stimmed and on retrieval day my sono showed that my eggs were vanishing. I felt and had signs of ovulation. I was even taking the Ganirelix at night and in the morning.

So now we're doing another stim cycle and we have about 12-13 good eggs, started the Ganirelix yesterday morning and was told that my estrogen doubled in one day! So they lowered my Gonal and menopur and added the Ganirelix to the evening too now, starting tonight. We're looking at a retrieval for sometime this weekend. I'm soooo scared I'm going to go through all this again to have the cycle canceled again because I "broke" through the Ganirelix. has anyone had this happend to them before or know anyone who has heard of this???

This happened to me, too!! Both of my IVF cycles, it appeared that I was "breaking through" the Ganirelix. Made for lots of drama, but the good news is that both times we got the eggs in time!

I had that happen on Lupron. I was injecting it twice a day and still prematurely ovulated it happens 1 in 500 patients and I was the one. Next cycle I did Ganirelix and that worked for me.

Thanks for all your responses. It's $ucks to be the minority on this one! Doc says things are looking good though. we got 18 good eggs, we just have to get to at least Saturday!! Keep me in your prayers that I do not ovulate on my own and get to my retrieval this time. I'm trying to be happy and positive, but I'm so paranoid of the same thing happening again.
