Those with oil

Do you have a contract and a payment plan? We just bought our house in July and it had a full tank and we haven't had to get oil yet but I'm sure we will soon. Our house is tiny (1300 sq ft including the finished basement which has it's own zone). We keep it cool too, but I'm afraid of what it will cost to fill up and DH & I can't decide if we should call & get a contract or shop around when we need oil?

Pros, cons??

Re: Those with oil

If you are concerned about your oil burner at all get a contract from someone who can do maintenance. If you can get that separately then you don't have to sign an oil contract and can get COD.

You can also get a contract from your oil company. I do that since I have an older boiler and they come asap to fix it.

very happy with Meenan.

Re: Those with oil

how old is the burner?

was it tuned up for the winter?

If not, I would have someone come out and tune it up and you can get a COD drop (which is always cheaper) than locking in.. oil prices keep fluctuating
