Re: Candied Yams Recipes

Are you making them mashed? If so, I can't help.

I cut my sweet potatoes in half and on each half I put a few slits with a knife and stick butter in each slit. Then I sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for about 30 minutes and then take out and put some more brown sugar and some marshmallows. Bake for another 10 or so minutes.

Re: Candied Yams Recipes

I would post mine but I'm about to post about how clumpy and watery they are, so clearly I am not the person to ask.Chat Icon

If they come out ok, I'll add the recipe.

My mom usually makes the potato part and I add the streusal and marshmallows, but this year I'm making the whole thing.

Re: Candied Yams Recipes

I make a sweet potato casserole without eggs. Im guessing you can use this for yams ??

I bake them in the oven skin on until soft. When they are cool I remove the skin and mash them. Add butter, a little cream, sea salt, cinnamon, brown sugar and some vanilla. Then I mix in some sweetened shredded coconut. I divide the amount of potatoes and put half in the casserole dish. Then i layer mini marshmallows over them. Then I put the second half on top and put in the oven until hot. Remove, layer top with more marshmallows and sprinke top with cinnamon and put back in oven until the marshmallows are melted and slightly browned.

Re: Candied Yams Recipes

Take a large can of yams. Mash in a 9X9 pan, mix in a little bit of pancake syrup to add a little sweetness. Spread top with Fluff. Broil under low flame until golden brown and bubbly.

I found this recipe and it sounds like half mashed, half chunks. But similar ingredients to yours.

yams
