here are the pics of the custom organizer DH built for my new walk-in. He has his own closet. Its a very small closet now because I gave some of it up to get a bigger master bath.

The closet size didn't really work with any premade organizers so he designed and built this from cedar to maximize the space.

The closet is inside our masterbathroom, behind a pocket door
the large fabric totes on the top shelf have out of season shoes(I rarely keep a shoebox), pocketbooks, wallets, Etc
I wear scrubs a few times a week so I wanted room to just keep folded clothes.

my boots are on the floor, most commonly used shoes hanging on wall in organizer. Smaller totes have belts, scarves, other accessories

double rows of hanging-I still need to get all new hangers and organize the clothes better.

the top shelf continues for more storage-it fits lots of boxes & even small luggage with hooks on the other wall for robes, more pocketbooks

Its not my dream closet, but it holds a lot of stuff so hopefully it will give others with small closets inspiration Chat Icon

That's amazing-very creative use of space. May I ask whether your DH used a system or built it by himself from scratch? I am hoping to inspire my DH to do something like that for our closets. Thanks.

He built it totally from scratch, he used cedar and assembled each shelf to fit the space because we could find anything premade that fit exactly

wow! Your DH did a great job! It kind of reminds me of my closet because it seems to be similar in size and shape, but I have those lame pre-made metal shelves in mine.

Your DH does very nice work. I can't wait to show mine to hopefully prod him to making something like this. Could I ask where your DH got the cedar from?
Thanks
