what size is your dining room and how big is your furniture?

Maybe i am in the minority bc our dining room isnt that big... approx 10 1/2 by 9 1/2. Im finding it hard to find a new set that will fit nicely in there. Everything seems so big, or too small. Our table now is approx 40"w x 62" long and the china cabinet is 16"w x 66" long. The table im looking at is 44w x 68l and the buffet is 19w. Its not a big set compared to what seems to be out there but i dont know if the 4 inches in width of the table plus an extra 3 in the buffet will be too much. We will be using this room every day so i want it to be comfy and accessible but i also want to be able to hold large groups for a holiday too. UghChat Icon what do u think? Anyone else with s small dining room?

What about a slightly smaller table with one ( or two) leaves that can be added for holidays?

I would look at a round-with leaves will fit more people than a rectangle. Also have you considered just a buffet or just a hutch, sounds like too much furniture for one small space.

if we got a round table, then we couldn't get ANY other piece of furniture - bc the room is on the narrow side and there's only one wall to put a hutch/buffet etc on. the chairs around a round table would wind up hitting into the buffet when someone sat/pushed themselves out.
i only want a table with 6 chairs and a buffet. we have a china cabinet now but would rather go without a hutch and have the wall free.

that's what i want. the table we have now is 62" long and we have 2 leaves for it. i'd like something similar, my general problem is width. it seems very hard to find narrow furniture.
