the registry!!

I know I should be grateful for what I get, and I hate to sound like a brat but I feel bad she wastes her money (when she doesn't have much to begin with.)

For my bridal shower rather than pick something from the list she got me a bunch of really awful stuff (4th of July place mats, a stuffed bunny - not like a stuffed animal - like a dead hunted bunny, stationary, apple shaped candles, heart shaped candles, etc.)

So now she must have looked at my baby registry and says I noticed you don't have a diaper bag on there - so I said that's b/c I already have 2 - I only put the stuff I need on the registry - everything else I have. Then she goes on to ask me what kind of pink is in my bedding set.

I'm scared! Why can't she just get me something I need!!!

Does anyone else's MIL do this?

I know!!!

I don't mind clothes, bibs, toys, frames, photo albums, etc. since I really didn't register for those things and some people like to add those things as part of the gift...but if you're going to get something we need use the registry!!!

It's true! My 3 year old niece was helping me open the gifts and she screamed....my DH made me keep the creepy thing...but I managed to hide it for the last 2 years

It's funny we recently moved and when he unpacked it he put it by the wood burning the stove. Well the cat keeps hissing at it - so my DH finally decided to stop torturing the cat (and me) and donated it to the city dump!!!

She told me that she already bought Hannah's dolls a crib and high chair. What about a crib and high chair for Hannah?

I hate when people do stuff like that. They assume someone else will purchase what you need, so they go ahead and buy whatever they want. And then you wind up with a bunch of crap you have no use for, and have to go out and buy the stuff you do need. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Ugh!!! What a pain!! I guess she doesn't realize that she's wasting her money and that you would appreciate the things you really need (that's why they are on the registry Chat Icon ) much more.

Just laugh and remember this when you are a MIL someday...a dead, hunted bunny....now that beats the pillow I got from my MIL for my bridal shower. Not a comforter or anything to go with it, just a decorate pillow.
