Fairway Douglaston
Finally - I have a GOOD alternative to Waldbaum's that I don't have to drive far to get to.
Now if Stew Leonards would open up here as well, I'd be happier than a pig in %*@#

OMG I tried to go today and it was packed and there was tons of traffic but I AM excited that it opened. I hate Waldbaum's and still go to the Island to go food shopping.

I saw this on the news tonight...I am going to go check it out one night after thanksgiving. Between the holiday and the novelty I am sure it will be packed for the next week.

so i went last night. ive never been to a fairway. overall, cool!
however, i must admit, i was disappointed with the quality of the produce
where do ppl in the northern queens area buy produce? i needed to get an orange and a spaghetti squash, but the quality was no good.

It is in the shopping center that has the Macy's and movie theater - right off the LIE / CIP.
Used to be Waldbaums.
