Vent...long (sorry)
I have to get this out....
Quick background...I have PCOS and have been trying to get preggers with RE for about a year. I didn't respond to clomid and started follistim...which I also did notnrespond well to. Shots of 200 and one follie. Over the months I had asked about metformin and was always told my numbers were "borderline."
Today was my fourth IUI. After the IUI I asked the doctor about how i wanted to get the ball rolling on an IVF cycle and that I had made an appointment for dec 1. She sat down and looked at my chart (I haven't aeen a doctor this entire cycle). She looks up andsays ,"why haven't you been taking metformin?" ***!!! This is merely a few weeks after I had to request an HSG test because no one had ever told me to get one.
This office is so convenient for work...only 8 minutes away...but I feel like I am losing my mind!!!!!
I am going through hell and I just want to know the plan I am following is effective.
At the end she said..."keep trying to lose weight." thank you captain obvious...working on it!!
What a day!! Hopefully this cycle will work...but I am very doubtful. I am just happy I have two weeks off of monitoring trips, instead of a two week wait...I am considering this a two week vacation.

 Just the simple fact that you've only seen a doctor once this cycle really scares me and concerns me for you. You need close and careful monitoring... and someone who asks how your puppy is by NAME when you walk through the door.
YOU shouldn't be the one suggesting the next step- they should! You need guidance, not a frigid reception.
I know that changing is a big deal, but I hope you have the courage to do it. Please FM me if you want more info about where i go- they're wonderful!
Let's hope #4 worked and you won't have to.

I was there just about every third day...but I never once saw a dr...just the nurse practioners. I spoke to a dr once on the phone because I had a meltdown in the office...but today was the first time I was in the same room with a doctor since my last IUI.

ugh, that is so frustrating. i have a feeling we go to the same practice.. i too feel like I don't get any one on one w the doc... looking to possibly switch after this cycle... good luck to you!!

Ugh, sorry your doc has been such a loser. The devil is in the details, they say, especially with IF.
I have ZERO patience for that sort of thing.
