Re: Christmas Dinner
Ham is popular for Christmas. What about making that with some nice side dishes?
I like appetizers, so sometimes, we make a lot of different appetizers and eat those throughout the day and then have a smaller dinner.
I don't eat Ham, so sometimes I make a mini-Thanksgiving with Turkey. I make the sides more festive to go with Christmas though.

the link above is for food network's different Christmas menus. Maybe you can find something you like there.

Re: Christmas Dinner
I might make Madeira wine braised short ribs this year...I tried a new recipe last night and they were awesome and so easy! We do a big Christmas Eve, so I love something that lets me enjoy the day on Christmas with minimal cooking effort and still tastes like it was a lot of work!

Re: Christmas Dinner
We pretty much always do the same thing for Christmas dinner. It's 10 adults and now two toddlers.
Crabmeat cocktail Mesclun greens with vinaigrette
Beef tenderloin with port wine sauce Twice baked stuffed potatoes with chives Green beans almondine Sauteed spinach with garlic Dinner rolls
Dessert changes every year.
