when your cycles dont work...
when your cycles don't work do you speak to your doc the next time you go in (after you get AF) to start a new cycle? I feel like I rarely see my doc but i just call up my RE's office when I get AF, go in, and its the same routine... they do sono, nurses prescribe me clomid, same song and dance... This IUI cycle has been a BFN and just waiting for AF to arrive, but I would also feel better talking to someone about other options and feel like I don't really get any communication.. like maybe as to WHY it didn't work, or if i would need any additional testing... just wanted to see how other practices were in that regard.. TIA!

Re: when your cycles dont work...
I am def going to sitdown with my doctor to go over a "game plan" for what the next steps are going to be...I need to have a plan so I dont drive myself with questions...I am in the same boat as you are...just waiting for AF to come since this IUI was a bust

Re: when your cycles dont work...
When my dr would call with bfn we would chat for a few minutes and then when I would go in on cd3 we would finalize the plan

Same... Dr.B would always have some encouraging words for why we will do 'better' next time. Needless to say... here I am..

Re: when your cycles dont work...
well I like that you girls get some sort of explanation, I feel where I go no one really cares... not really happy with my RE but just go there out of convenience for now..

Re: when your cycles dont work...
I had once asked a similar question- like can the doctor tell you why they think your cycle failed. PennyCat (who has the same doc as me) said that he usually has a theory as to why it fails and usually tweaks the protocol.
I've done a few IUI cycles and never had the same protocol once.
I think you need to demand personal attention from your doctor.

i agree, this place i go to though has been known of being a "factory feel" and currently i've been going there since they take my insurance and its close to my job.... but my doc is only there on wednesdays and thursdays so it kind of stinks whenever i'm in the office and its not either of those days. I guess I will see what happens for next cycle and look into changing docs if I still don't get any answers , or at least reassurance.

Re: when your cycles dont work...
I wish they had answers; but they never do!!! Especially when you had a perfect cycle; made a good amount of eggs; perfect sperm--perfect levels on all counts.......only to get AF less than two weeks later. What gives? I have no idea!
