Caiden is crying about his hiney again!
I don't know what it is? Last time this happened I cut out the chocolate milk completely for a few days and he didn't cry about his hiney hurting when he was trying to poop. After that I allowed chocolate milk only in the morning and at night before bed. He was fine for a while, but now he's started crying again that his hiney hurts when he's trying to poop. He does this several times in the evening because he doesn't really go until about the 3rd time that he cries/tries to go. Once he goes, he's fine. I don't think he does this at school. I don't think he even goes #2 at school? Maybe once in a while. I just don't know if I should call the doctor or not? Is it just constipation? Is it the chocolate in the chocolate milk? I water down the milk so I know it's not that. I just feel bad for him. Any ideas? Oh... he's been drinking a lot of apple juice as well. Thanks!

Why do you not think it's constipation? Does chocolate cause constipation, I don't think I heard that. I would call the dr and make sure that he doesn't have a fisher.

Re: Caiden is crying about his hiney again!
I am not sure if this would work for Caiden but it might be worth a shot. DS had problems going to the bathroom, he would only go once or twice a week and he didnt like water. My ped said to give warm water with DARK corn sryup. It is 1 teaspoon to 1 oz of water. The first time I gave it to him he went no problems and now goes everyday. He likes the taste of it, I actually like the taste of it and he doest strain at all anymore. Does he drink water throughout the day?

I'm not sure if that would work, I'll have to try it. I don't believe he drinks any water during the day. He's in daycare so I think they only have milk and juice.

Re: Caiden is crying about his hiney again!
You should really try to get him to drink more water. Apple juice wouldn't constipate him it would do the opposite. There is a possibility he could have a small allergy to milk. My sister had this problem w/her dd. She started to give her soy milk instead(it comes in chocolate too). Low and behold no more trouble she goes with no problem. She used to not go for days and then when she did it was humungous, hard as a rock and extremely painfull. So much so that my Mom actually had to put vaseline on a qtip and litterally help her go. I felt so bad for. It made potty training impossible. But that soymilk did wonders. Good luck.

I totally agree! A fissure is caused by straining hard stools. Is there blood after he goes?
I have one and boy oh boy do I cry sometimes. It doesn't hurt after I go, but during, the pain is worse than childbirth.
The hard stools could cause him pain too, kinda like a square peg, round hole thing.
Could you maybe send some water into daycare with him with some fruits and veggies to keep him regular and loose?
Poor Caiden, I hope he's okay. I can't imagine going through coolie problems soo young. I cry and I am 29!

I don't know what it is???
I don't think it's a milk allergy because he's been drinking milk since he was 11 months old and he's 2.5 now.
I'm not sure of this fissure thing. I did go ahead and make an appointment to see his Ped for Friday morning. I'll ask about it.
Thanks again for the support!!!
I think I may stop giving him chocolate milk until his appt and see if it gets any better.
Thanks again... your posts really do mean a lot!
