My DH just surprised me!!!
He was asking a boat load of questions about Disney "for a friend". Like where to eat and how long to book reservations for and what's the number to call or do it online? So a little while later we are talking about Christmas presents and he takes my hand and looks at me with this coy little smile and says "We're going to DisneyWorld in January". I almost fell off my seat and screamed soooo loud!!! I hugged him for about 10 minutes!!!! So I have about 2 months to plan!!! I'm sooo excited!!! I'm probably going to have a lot of questions bc i havent' been there in about 7 years!!! We're waitng on telling the kids til the night before!!! Ok first question does anyone know what the weather is like in January?

Re: My DH just surprised me!!!
January is hit or miss. You could hit great, pool weather or you could be wearing winter coats the whole time.

Re: My DH just surprised me!!!
January is iffy - we went a while back and it was 70's most days with one day low 80 and one day 60's. Nights were freezing - 30's an 40s. We wore our coats, and had to buy hats and gloves down there b.c we didn't realize it was that cold (people said it was colder than it had been in years). We were able to swim the one day it hit 80 (pools are all heated btw). Think layers, layers, layers. It is cold in the morning, warmer in the afternoon and freezing at night. We wore like jeans and a tee shirt, sweatshirt or sweater we could tie around our waist and a light jacket we could roll into a backpack for during the day and then switched to our winter coats at night. So you might have to over pack a bit to deal with the iffy weather.
Depending on when in January the big plus is little to no crowds at all!!! We went the 5th-12th - and the holiday decorations were up for about the 1st 2 days. We went at the end of the marathon so it was crowded the 1st day then dead the rest of the week. I would go back at that time again in a heartbeat - even with the iffy weather it was so nice to be able to walk onto every ride with the longest being on 10 min waits and most things with no wait at all.

January is wonderful! Often chilly - love the layers - but no crowds.
Other than the WDW marathon weekend and the holiday weekend, you should have very low crowds.
Enjoy! (and get your dining booked now, LOL)

What a fun surprise!!
We went in January and hit a patch of beautiful 80 degree weather. We used the outdoor pools at the hotel. The park was wonderful too, less crowds than when we went in March the year before. I would totally go in January again because I can't stand long lines and crowds.
Don't expect hot, beach weather but bring your swimsuits and shorts just in case. Make sure you have layers!
