and Im having a hard time with it. Part of me wants to back out (where Id lose $9500). The new house is 5 minutes from work and is 3 levels (4 bed 2.5 bath).

Leaving the house I have been in for 4 years is hard. I picked out the fence around the property, the pool, the fireplace, the paint colors etc. I ripped out bushes and made my own gardens. You know :( I made it my own. I just keep trying to tell myself in time I will love the new one too after I make it my own. We will be giving up a huge IG pool, 2 car detached garage, IGS, CAC and a fireplace.

I just hope Im making the right move. If I wanted to stay here, not only would we now lose $9500, but wed need to add on b/c we are just on top of each other. (3 bed 2 bath ranch with no basement.) My commute right now is 30 minutes to an hour depending on traffic and how many kids I need to drop off.)

I just wish I could be Chat Icon but instead I am Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon I can see where you are coming from.

Maybe you can do something to make yourself a bit more excited about the house -- perhaps picking out new paint colors or a new piece of furniture to boost your mood about the new house.

Good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Amy it must be so hard leaving that beautiful house, but I am sure you will make this new house your own. The extra space and 5 minute commute will be great. Whats happening with DH?

Things have been great, but Im afraid to put my walls completely down and have 100% hope. KWIM? He stopped drinking over a month ago and things have been incredible. I told him I would like him to stay in our house for 6 months or so while he sells it and if he stays sober then move in with us. I already have been to the lawyer about being legally separated, but I didnt go for a divorce because I do have some hope. KWIM? Hopefully well be able to go to couples counseling and really get to know each other again. Chat Icon

It will be. I mean, I chose it because it was PERFECT for us. I LOVE my big brick patio, my neighbors, being right off William Floyd, being on a culdesac. I could go on and on. If there was more room, like another level, I would stay here and have DH move out for a couple months or so instead of moving. With an open floor plan in a ranch - theres like no escaping. The winters are hard. Chat Icon

I totally understand where you are coming from! I just moved to a house from an apartment and I am having a really hard time...I loved my apartment! we totally gutted it back in 2006 and made it beautiful! We lived there until this past July. We also gutted the house we bought, but it just isn't as cozy. Plus, now I am further from work! I don't know what I was thinking. I am hoping to adjust soon. I am really missing the area where we lived. I hope that you love your new home!!! It's good that you are closer to work...that helps a lot!
