when is a lovenox bruise too bad..

i think i did something stupid..

i am doing 3 shots a day..40 mg each

for some reason the past couple days i am having trouble sticking it in ..like i find the spot go to put the needle in and it does not go in..so i just go to another spot

so today i inject first needle..ok. kinda hurt but whatever..

go to second one..goes in great..no prob..so i figure use third in same spot..so i dont go exactly same spot but like right next to

ok so now hours later...i have the most enormous bruise..like 1/3rd of my stomach and kinda a bump under..it really really hurts lol..i sound like a weenie

did i do something bad or did i ust do something dumb when i injected them too close

I've gotten those. Little red bumps, or welts, and huge scary bruises. Not sure if it's BAD per se, but I think you'll be ok. If you're doing the shots 3 times a day, you're bound to run out of space. Did you ask the doc where else on your body can you inject yourself? dr b had told me the love handles and the upper front thigh. you should ask him.

That shot sounds horrible! Why does it cause so much bruising?

ive had that happen before, esp with the hard bump. are you injecting slowly?? also i wouldnt use the same spot twice in one day. i actually try not to inject into a bruise ever, but obviously after a while thats impossible and i was doing it only once a day (3x a day )

i am a bad injector ..i go too fast...i promise to go slow

I have had the huge purple welts that were warm to the touch. Ice them so they stop swelling. I think they are normal and it happens whe you hit a little capillary. Feel better!

I can't help too much since I am a freak of nature and have not had a single bruise. But I never inject in the same area. I basically travel across my stomach and alternate sides for the same day.

Def ask the Dr today.

dumb question # 99, I am just starting my IVF journey, waiting for my protocol from my RE, in the meantime, I have been trying to get as much info myself so I know what questions to ask my RE...i see Lovenox as one meds that everyone seems to be on....

my question is what exactly is iLovenox for?

Does everyone have to use this?

I used to do that. Try a spot and it wouldnt work, so try another.

I stopped brusing and just would just get little red dots by doing the following:

ice it first for awhile
pinch the skn tightly
inject slowly
inject in my butt,love handles(at the hospital they did it in my upper back of the arm)
