Getting AF on 8dpiui
does this sound right?? Long story short, I was doing an IVF cycle and apparently towards the end when we were getting ready to do my retreival, 2 of 6 eggs were gone! They weren't sure if I ovulated or the eggs were just bursting. Whatever the case was they said that this was no a common thing to happen. Apparently, my body didn't respond well to the Ganerlix. But what was weird was that my blood didn't show I ovulated, but that my body was "trying" to. So instead of just washing out the whole IVF cycle, the doctor said I should just do an IUI not to make it a total waste of a cycle. Needless to say, my husband and I were very upset.
So now here I am 8dpiui and I am spotting and feelling a bit crampy, like I'm gonna get AF. Is this possible to even get AF this early? I thought I had another week.
Thanks girls xoxo

No, why would that bring on AF earlier?

Re: Getting AF on 8dpiui
I dont think it will bring it on earlier but it usually prevents AF from coming for a bit. When I did IUIs I was on progesterone suppositiories. I would call your doc.

Re: Getting AF on 8dpiui
I know it's rare but they say spotting could mean implantation bleeding. And the cramps really could mean anything. Throughout my cycles, I was always reallly crampy, esp during the 2ww. Was it a medicated cycle? That could also contribute to the cramps.

Re: Getting AF on 8dpiui
Same exact thing happened to me. (2 follies on tues, nothing on fri, bloowork showed I didn't O). But a week later, I had definite O cramps with + opk and then light spotting I normally get when I O. Is it possible you O'd a week later?

Re: Getting AF on 8dpiui
it is entirely possible. my first injectable cycle i overproduced and had 10+ mature follies. the cycle was cancelled because i wasn't at a point, mentally or financially, to switch to IVF. we didn't trigger but i had pain and i KNOW i ovulated a few of those eggs. FIVE DAYS later i got AF. i still dont know how it is possible but it def happened. i went back to the RE for CD3 and of course i had a ton of leftover follies and had to do BCP for 3 weeks before I could start again.
so it is absolutely possible to get AF that early, especially if you were on higher doses of gonatropins. for me i believe the drop from using all of the injectables to nothing (not even progesterone support which im surprised you aren't on) caused AF to arrive so early.
since its spotting i hope for you that

Re: Getting AF on 8dpiui
I am a bit surprised you are not on either Progesterone in Oil injections or Progesterone suppositories to support the embryos to attach to your uterine lining. Let's just hope its NOT AF and implantation spotting. Is it light bleeding or like a period flow??
