enemas?

anyone's doctor give them the ok to use an enema for constipation? have been reading mixed things online.

Mine did. The morning of my 36wk appointment I had been on the toilet straining for 3 hrs I has sooooooo constipated and had tried everything. It had been 5 days and I was already taking a stool softner throughout the pregancy, eating prunes, and high fiber foods. When my midwife did my cervical check her eyes got HUGE and she said Honey go get an enema....you are so full all I feel is the pressure from your rectum!

I was in so much pain I did it. It wasn't comfortable but man it helped. I slept better that night and the next day felt like a new women! About 4hrs later my water broke
