How much do you think this should cost?
I have a classic cape, 2 small bedrooms upstairs, with a closet at the top of the stairs between both rooms. No bathroom up there.
How much do you think it should cost to rip out all old sheetrock (entire upstairs), install all new walls, spackle, molding, doors, and lay carpet?
I haven't gotten any estimates yet bc we're not sure when we will be ready to do it. Also, any reccos on companies/handymen that could do this?

Re: How much do you think this should cost?
I know sheetrocking a decent size unfinished attic is gonna cost at least 5000 since I was gonna do that. To do that to an entire floor is probably gonna cost more 'cus you have more walls to cover.
My estimate would be 6-10k depending on if you use a good handyman vs. a general contractor. We know GCs will charge more....
If you do it yourself, that's even cheaper! :)

We got a quote of 7 boards of tape and spackle for $350. I believe to replace our doors was $200 to $250 (metal frames). I cannot tell you price for demo or carpet but you could save some money (maybe $500 to $1000) if you do demo yourself.

I guess we could have friends come over and do the demo to save $. I was hoping to keep it under $5k.
Thanks
