Sex before transfer???
Ok...so tomorrow is the big day! My 2 perfect (and 1 slightly imperfect) embies are being introduced to their new home. Here's to hoping they like it! Anyway, a nurse told me it might be helpful to have sex with DH tonight!? Any thoughts or experience with this advice? Thanks!

I have done 2 transfers... One successful (with triplets!) and one unsuccessful. I did not have sex before either of them.

i did and i got a BFP.
the thought behind that is that if your husbands sperm (assuming thats the same sperm used for the embies) is introduced into the uterus, the body will become accustomed to the foreign DNA and be less likely to have an immune inflammatory response, and be more accepting when the embryos containing the same DNA come to implant. its especially relevant if you have things like elevated NK or other immune issues.

I was always told not to by other drs. The one nurse @ my dr that I see now tells us, but none of the other nurses there have mentioned it, so I have and haven't... depends on if I remember, lol... and we've had it work and not work, so not sure if it helps at all, but at this point it can't hurt.  Good luck!

I was told not to because of risk of infection after the retrieval.

I was wondering what you ended up doing. I  the night before my successful FET my RE was fine with it. Good luck!

Ok, this might be very personal, but you BDedthe night before,....and then showered in the am...then went to your transfer?

Yes showered before the transfer the night before. My RE said the same thing FlowerWife said. I did not BD before any of my other transfers and they were all BFN, I did for this one and it worked not sure if its a coincidence or not......
