Question about DH going in exam room with you?

Sorry if this is a strange question...when you go for your IUI does your DH come in the room with you or no?

i guess if you wanted to he could be there.... i personally did not have DH there, he dropped off his sample before time and left to go home, i got the IUI done almost an hour and a half later and went to work after..

yes... Its a big old party when we try to knock me up. But he doesng have to be if you or he doesnt want.

I don't want DH to see me with a speculum up my hoo-ha. He waits outside. I listen to my 3 songs on the radio, and then I update him on the news.

My DH has been with me for all 6 of my IUIs. He stays up by my head and Dr.B used to tell him to 'kiss the bride' at the time I was potentially getting knocked up

Some days DH was there in the room with me, some days he just dropped off the sample and went to work - depended on the timing.

But he's seen every single part of me in good times and bad, and we have absolutely no shame in front of each other (through me having other medical issues and the IF treatments, and now especially after having a baby)

If he can be there, i think it makes it more 'special' to know he was at least present during the act!

if his schedule allows it then yes, otherwise I just did them on my own.

Depending on the timing, I often brought DH's sample with me to the office, but whenever he could be there, he was in the room with me.

I always had DH in the room with me during IUI's. I always felt he should be in the room while we were potentially conceiving our child. He came into the OR when they did my IVF transfer as well.

I did 6 IUI's and DH was there for only one of them. I never realized how uncomfortable it would make him to have some guy stick something in me etc... if you KWIM? So because it made him really nervous too he would say the weirdest things, like start criticizing the art on the wall of the Doc's office or something. I was very happy that when we moved onto IVF he was not allowed in the room.

Yes he was at 3/4 of my iui. He had to travel for work so he couldn't stay and I was sad. As stupid as it sounds I feel like he missed out. I like having him there to hold my hand and tell me the positive things I need to hear.

i never did IUIs but DH was there for everything he was allowed in for with IVF. he was there for the transfer and held my hand the whole time.

IMO if he or you feels uncomfortable being in the room for a quick sono.. its gonna be rough when you are pregnant and have internals throughout the first tri and third tri and then of course the delivery!! so might as well get used to it now!!

DH wasnt with me when I had my IUI,,,getting off from work is difficult for him so he dropped it off and then went to work after.

He has been there for both so far...but that was only because the timing worked out so well...he was on the phone the whole time though....not an intimate experience...lol

Yes, but ultimately you have to do what's right for you. After he took so long to come around with iui, I wanted him to be part of every moment. Sometimes, I have to plead with him to take off of work. One morning, he really couldn't come to the iui so I had him on speakerphone while the RE did it. I know, I know but hey- it works for us!
