Shower ?
hi Girls, I live in Charlotte but some of my firends / family still live in NY
I do not want to have 2 showers and just want to have one in Charlotte. Here is the dilema, obviously, my sister would fly to Charlotte for my shower and my mom would come from Georgia. Including them, I have approximately 30 people from Charlotte that I would invite. I am planning to invite about 10 people from NY who I know will not come...is it presumptious (sp) to invite some people from NY to a shower in NC? I do not want to seem like I am fishing for gifts....TIA

I wouldn't invite anyone from NY to a shower in NC, especially if you are going to have 2.

I don't think so at all...invite them...they might come and surprise you! I am sure they are dying to see you and spend tme before the baby comes anyway...I would never think its someone fishing for gifts, I would be honored to be invited!

I'd invite the NY people only if they are close friends or relatives. My family and a couple close friends of mine live in MN and I'd feel very hurt if they didn't send me an invite to their events. Even if I couldn't make it, I would send a gift as long as I received an invite.

I think there is no harm in inviting. You'd be surprised how far some people wil travel. That happened for both my bridal shower and my wedding. People came as far as Florida.

Def invite them! They may understand why you wouldnt have, but more importantly they want to know that you thought of them.
I sent shower invites to quite a few people out of state. They are friends of mine or my parents and I wanted them to know that if they are in town they're invited and if not, I would have liked them to come.

I invited close friends and family that are from out of state...one is actually coming from CA So you never know.

Definitely invite them! I went to my friends shower in Ohio..and there were quite a few of us from the NY/NJ area who came.
