Removing fiber glass insulation?
Has anyone done this - if so, how do you do so safely and did you hire someone to do it and, if so, who? We have a small amount of exposed fiber glass in our basement (the unfinished part) that I want to remove. Can't seem to find a company that does this for fiber glass (only asbestos stuff). TIA!

Re: Removing fiber glass insulation?
Fiberglass doesn't irritate me, so I just do it myself with minimal protection. If it doesn't bother your skin, you just need a dust mask to keep the fibers to a minimum.
There aren't companies that specifically do this, because there aren't any real specialties needed for it. Just take it out and put it in plastic garbage bags.
If your skin does get irritated easily, or to be cautious, you can get a disposable suit from HD. They are good for general demo, painting, etc. It will keep the fibers away from your skin.

You should also wear protective eye goggles just to be safe. An old boyfriend had once gotten fiberglass in his eye.
