Therapy

So I feel like I am losing it! This infertility roller coaster has been the most draining year ever...and this could just be the beginning. Last week I found out my best friend is 8 weeks pregnant...she got married 8 weeks ago. My nephew was born last week and I have a niece coming in Feb. I feel like everyone around me is pregnant or just had a baby and I am trying to be happy for all of them and end this pity party...but it is a struggle. I can't even be in the same room as my bf, and although she understands I feel like a terrible person. Wow..sorry for that vent. I was wondering if any of you know of a good therapist on the south shore...maybe someone who specializes with infertility? I am going to call some numbers I got from mybhealth plans website tomorrow...but thought I would ask here too. Thanks for any info!! I think all the women on this board are amazing!

we are here so that we can all make you realize we all feel the same, the men react the same, and you're not alone...

I go to South Shore Counseling center in Wantagh. I started to go when I began to verbally throw up on my DH because of what I was feeling. To be honest, she's not a fertility specialist therapist, but she's great.

Also, check with your RE's office. All of them have people either on-site and people they recommend. Good luck!

I have a few recommendations from my acupuncturist. They all specialize in IF. They're not on the south shore though, more like Huntington, Plainview, Setauket, etc.

Thank you for all of your input. Everyday is a new emotion! Trying to get through it is sooooo draining!!

hi have someone who actually does if counseling in rockville center. she does take insurance.
i have someone in massapequa who does not take insurance but can also rx meds

I would LOVE the name of the person in RVC!! I definitely want to try and go e insurance route. My acupuncture appointments twice a week really add up...I would have to go through insurance. Thank you sooooo much!!

I would not have survived 4 years with RE's and many failed cycles if it wasn't for therapy. I do hypnotherapy, which is counseling and meditation guidance to relax and rid the body of stress that we hold onto. Hope you find someone you really like. Good luck!
