My mums are starting to die off

Anybody know if I can plant them in the garden and have them come back next year? I always thought they were annuals, but at the hospital where I work, I noticed they have huge ones that looked like they were blooming a few weeks ago. They appeared to have been there all year.

Yes, you can plant them and they will come back bigger and fuller next year.

Re: My mums are starting to die off

Its very strange because last year I had a couple of pots of them. Once the winter came and they died I put them in the backyard so they were out of the way and then just completely forgot about them. All summer I never did anything to them, never watered them, never made sure they had sunlight. But yet end of September I happened to notice that it was budding and sure enough it had all these flowers within a couple of days. So I guess they can come back.

It depends on the mums you have. Some are annuals and some are perennials.
