Halloween Cookie Dough Pops!

Finalllllyyyy uploaded my photos of my cookie dough pops! I made them for the bake-off at our Halloween party at work and won 2nd place! Though, I feel like I was robbed! Chat Icon

I'm sorry the pics are kinda crappy. These were taken at 3:00 AM the morning of the party. Chat Icon I was asked last minute to make a second dessert since we had so few entries. They're lucky I actually enjoy baking!

I didn't like the way my pumpkin's looked without a stem. Bakerella used mint tictacs as a stem, but I'm strongly opposed to using something that I wouldn't want to eat with it just because it looks good. So I tried to make some brown royal icing stems but they looked crappy and like I said, it was 3:00 AM. lol! So I just started writing "Boo!" on them and actually liked how it loooked. Everyone called them the "Boo Pops" at the party.

Some lame-o cake with the words "Trick-or-Treat" spelled out in M&M's. Chat Icon But an attorney had submitted that and I'm just a lowly receptionist. It's always fixed which is kind of sad when it's only a $50 amazon gift certificate on the line. But I don't care, I just considered it practice! Chat Icon

Re: Halloween Cookie Dough Pops!

What is the recipe for the cookie dough?

Also, what melting chocolate do you use? It gives such a nice and smooth coverage to the pop.

I actually used a no egg cookie dough recipe that someone posted on here. It comes out soooo good. I'll bump it for you! Chat Icon

Also, I don't really use chocolate per say. I use Make'n'Mold candy melts. Nothing and I truly mean NOTHING comes out as smooth as these melts. I think I've tried them all. I'm usually a pop failure so I was particularly proud of these babies. It definitely helped that when I would notice the melted candy start to thicken, I'd add a little vegetable oil. That kept it perfectly smooth and coated.

I also followed Bakerella's tips for the first time and this was KEY. She says to first dip the stick in the melted candy then insert it into your cookie dough/cake pop. Then dip the whole pop in there. Once it's dipped, take it out and hold it over the bowl in your right hand while you gently tap your right wrist with your left hand. I don't know why but it's the magic! It's all in tapping the wrist! It was worth it JUST for that to buy Bakerella's book! lol!

ETA: Ahh I was just being lazy before. Here's a link to the blog with the recipe! Enjoy!
