HELP!
So I tried making those crispy baked potatoes in the oven... I have made other items in the oven before (chicken cutlets, buffalo wings, roasted potatoes, squash, etc.). Well, immediately when I put the baked potatoes in the oven they smoked up and filled the entire house with smoke. the upstairs and the downstairs. we opened both of our doors, 3 windows, put on the exhaust fan and took out our two fire alarms. The smoke is still everywhere it looks so foggy in here. they have only been in for about 5 minutes total so far. What is going on? Is it because I coated them in oil and it dripped all over the bottom of the oven? I use a lot of EVOO when I make the roasted potatoes but that never smokes. Sometimes when we make chicken wings it sets off the fire alarm but it also never smokes. we can't breathe well now and we can't seem to circulate the smoke out. Any comments?

Re: HELP!
yes, it is from the oil dripping on the bottom of the oven. I never oil my baked potatoes when i do them in the oven, and they come nice and crispy without it.

Re: HELP!
Watch out because you can start a fire that way.
