I am little nervous....
because I am having an IUI tomorrow...I went in on Friday for an u/s and I had 3 follicles ranging between 15 and 20...I was told that if I didnt ovulate by yesterday that I would go in for a trigger today...I went in today and I my follies were 24, 27 and 19...so I had a trigger today and I am scheduled for 7:40 IUI!!! From what I read the IUI is really quick but I am nervous...I was also wondering if these follies are potentially too big...I read that 18-20 is optimal and they might be too "mature", is that true? The tech said they were good and I had a range of maturity which is good. My lining was also not optimal at 6.5...so I am on estrogen to thicken it up.

yes 24 and 27 are bigger than average because most doctors will be monitoring you and triggering earlier and not relying on OPKs and they will check more often to make sure they catch the follies before they are that big. however, that by no means means that they are too big or it wont work, just in general the trigger tends to be done earlier since the meds itself mature the eggs 1-2mm as well.
19 is on the money for trigger.

well I had an u/s friday and they prob would have triggered me yesterday but I was in a wedding so that wasnt possible. I hope it all works out.

couldnt you trigger yourself?
even if they are closed sunday you still couldve gotten an IUI monday and still be effective.

This is my first IUI cycle so I really didnt know what the trigger was and being able to do it myself...if they told me to trigger saturday I...knowing what it is now....I prob could have done it myself since its just an injection...I am becoming more and more educated on all the infertility things as I get exposed to them...I hope that it works out.
