Not sure what's going on

I woke up yesterday morning thinking that my water broke. I thought I had a slow leak, it was pinkish. I was also feeling contractions sporadically. I called my midwife and she said it sounded like I was in early labor.

I had my regular appointment in the afternoon. They hooked me up to the machine for a non stress test. The baby's heart rate was in the 130s, 140s, 150s but they were waiting for it to go up for a few seconds. I was hooked up to the machine for a while and they said the baby was fine and that some contractions registered on the machine too.

When I had the internal, my midwife said my water did not break. I was leaking mucus (I guess the start of bloody show?). She said I am 2 cm dilated, 50% effaced. She said the baby is very low and would definitely be here by the end of the week. She predicted she'd see us at the hospital later last night or at some point today.

When I talked to my doula she basically said not to get too excited because I could be like this for days. The night came and went and now this day is almost over. My contractions (if that's what they really are) feel the same. I thought they should be getting worse by now!

I'm kind of upset because I was getting excited and now I feel like a dumba$$ for 1. thinking my water broke and 2. thinking I'm having contractions.

I guess I just wanted to vent but also, can you guys reassure me that what I'm feeling are contractions? It's an ache that starts in my back and gets progressively worse. It goes around into my lower belly and the rest of my belly gets a little harder. Then it slowly goes away. It hurts but it's totally bearable.

don't worry what you are feeling is right, they do become worse though. I'm sure you will go very soon! Good Luck!
